Migratory and resting birds Køge Bugt stretches from Avedøre in the north all the way to Stevns in the south. Along the bay, named after the market town of Køge, there are a number of good birding spots. The coast along Køge Bay is a favorite place for birdwatchers, as its wetlands, lagoons, beach swamps, small islands and islets, sandy beaches attract many water birds such as ducks and waders both spring and fall. Along Køge Bay there are important resting places for migratory birds - especially in the fall. Flocks of geese, ducks and waders can be seen resting or foraging in the area from July and well into November. Ølsemagle Revle is also an important resting and overnight site for gulls and terns, where not least the Caspian Tern can be seen resting before heading to the species' wintering grounds. In some winters, various resting birds can also be seen - including Redpolls, Twites and a few Snow buntings and maybe Horned larks!
